ACOUSTIC

Building Acoustic Noise and Vibration Control Design

1. Room Acoustics/Interior Acoustic

Room Acoustics/Interior Acoustic, conditions the ambience of a space for a specific functional requirement.

Prakhun Acoustics has the in-depth knowledge to evaluate, design and propose acoustic treatment solutions, corporate as room finishes, aimed to enhance or condition the acoustic ambience within the space. Tailoring of the acoustic ambience for specific functional requirements i.e. speech, live music, reinforced music, multi-media presentations, etc. may all be implemented by the meticulous selection of room finished, curtain, furniture, carpets, acoustic wall panels, acoustic ceiling panels, etc. Design would eliminate or minimise un-wanted acoustical defects often related to large or un-acoustically treated rooms. The acoustic treatment is also used more generally to control people noise or noise built-up due to high reverberation.

A good Room Acoustic design would ensure an ideal acoustic ambience is achieved within a conditioned space, i.e. high intelligibility and clear speech, for speech related rooms, etc.

2. Sound Insulation

Sound Insulation is providing the required sound transmission loss or noise reduction and it is mainly associated selection of the building elements itself, i.e. walls, windows, doors, roof, floors, etc.

Prakhun Acoustics has the expertise to design, review and propose noise control measures, implementing from cutting edge state-of-art products to the more common building material implementation. The aim of this material selection is to achieve the required reduction, by minimising the noise propagation or energy transfer path.

Minimising noise intrusion into each of the critical spaces is a vital factor to ensure that the specific rooms function satisfactorily, free from any forms of intermittent external noise interruptions and annoyance to the users. Sound insulation covers both cases of noise intrusion from external areas and noise intrusion from internally within the building from internal adjacent spaces themselves.

3. Mechanical ACMV and Electrical Noise Control

Mechanical ACMV and Electrical Noise Control is a complete mechanical air-conditioning and ventilation noise control design for all ACMV - Air conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation Systems, for the acoustically sensitive spaces in order to achieve the recommended ambient noise criteria (NC, NR, RC, PNC, etc.).

We would also control noise ACMV and Electrical noise from the building to external of building spaces for achieving Public Spaces noise criteria (dBA) or noise level at the land boundary to meet DOE (Department Of Environment) noise emission guidelines.

4. Structure Borne Noise and Vibration Control

Structure Borne Noise and Vibration Control is the incorporation of a specific design to reduce and minimise structure borne noise energy from propagating and entering the acoustically sensitive spaces.

The vibration isolation design would be aimed to achieve the recommended or required ambient vibration criteria within the building structure to a specific Vibration Criteria level, i.e. suitable for office areas, Residential, Hospitals, etc.

Vibration Isolation design would consider the occurring natural structural members' natural frequencies, by analysing the building design dynamics and dimensions, column and beam structural design to establish the most efficient engineering solution.

5. Environmental Noise

Environmental Noise are noise originating from the environment and a specific design would be implemented to reduce and minimise the source disturbance/annoyance.

Assessment of environmental noise uses the latest in noise propogation theories and in-house analysis software. Many factors are considered in our noise analysis i.e. numbers and types of noise sources, point/line/pane type noise source categories, vehicle speeds, vehicle counts, vehicle heavy and light grouping/distributions, road surface data, road gradient in the various axis, land topography and surface composition, day and night temperature gradient effects, wind direction and speed, relative humidity, extent of exposure to the receiver, time of occurrence, existence of -/+ shielding structures, vegetation, distance and elevation location, etc. would all constitute and contribute to the overall level of noise experienced.

Proper noise control against environmental noise would ensure a comfortable living environment free of annoyance.
